The 2025-26 school year is coming to an end, and with it means another group of seniors are graduating. The 2026 Gold Quill senior staffers want to take a moment to reflect on our time in the newspaper.
Each of us are quite different people, but newspaper was a place where we could come together to share the passion of journalism. And eventually we became more than fellow journalists, but close and personal friends.
There was a time where barely anyone in the school knew LT had a newspaper, and everyone used to confuse us for the broadcast team back when we were both named the Vanguard. We have eventually come to grow the era of the Gold Quill. Now more people know our name and we built not just a magazine, but a legacy with it.
We want to thank Ms. Anita for bringing so much to this organization. Without her, we would not have gained opportunities such as attending the ILPC Convention and submitting ourselves for awards. She stood by us as we rebranded the newspaper, which came with countless mistakes and learning lessons. Ms. Anita also became more than a newspaper advisor for many of us. She taught us to grow not just as journalists, but as people. We are so grateful for her guidance.
To the future editors – Jake, Anh, and Ana – we have full faith that you will continue to grow the newspaper in every way possible. Each of you are incredible journalists, and most importantly incredibly kind hearted people with great passion for life. We are so excited to see you lead the 2026-27 Gold Quill staff, best of luck.
This is Marisa, Riya, Poorvi, Alexa, Tiffany, Jana, & Seema signing out.
