As the final chapter of high school draws to a close, Lebanon Trail High School seniors are taking time to reflect on a year filled with eventful senior activities. From early-morning traditions like the senior sunrise to unforgettable nights at the bonfire and lock-in, the graduating class has already made lasting memories. With highly anticipated events like prom, Grad Nite, and the senior sunset still on the horizon, students recently shared favorite experiences and looked ahead to what comes next.

For Senior Harshini Ganapathy, one of the year’s standout moments was the senior sunrise. Ganapathy reflected on the event, and how it helped her facilitate connections with her peers.

“It was really nice having one big event to meet up with everyone,” Ganapathy said. “It gave me the opportunity to connect with an elementary school friend, even after nearly seven years without speaking. It was one of the first events that truly created a space to gather in one location. Even if you aren’t close to everyone, it offers the perfect opportunity to catch up.”

Senior Samina Kamal pointed to the senior bonfire as her favorite activity, highlighting the variety of entertainment available.

“I liked the bonfire a lot because there were a bunch of games, like a mini-golf course,” Kamal said. “There were also so many options for what to do, such as making s’mores by the fire with friends, crafting hot chocolate, and entering the raffle. I loved being able to talk with close friends while also connecting with different students. I really appreciated how the bonfire offered that space.”

Looking toward the future, Senior Teena Thomas is especially excited for the upcoming Powderpuff tournament.

“I think it’s a great way to get everyone involved in a fun activity,” Thomas said. “It’s a unique twist where the girls participate in the football game, while the guys take on the cheerleading role.”

Beyond the excitement for past and future activities, a strong sense of gratitude has emerged among the senior class. Students are quick to acknowledge the hard work of the organizers who made these memorable moments possible.

“I really want to thank Mrs. Kim Mano,” Thomas said. “I know she’s the woman behind a lot of this, and I’m so grateful, especially for events like the bonfire and lock-in, where organizers had to dedicate their entire evening and even early morning to chaperone the students.”

Seniors Mahi Bhatnagar and Samina Kamal echoed this sentiment and reflected on their gratitude for the people behind the scenes, making these senior events so memorable.

“Hopefully, everyone involved in making these senior activities possible knows how truly grateful the students are. Thank you for all the special memories made this year, thanks to the activities organized for the senior class.”
