As a former assistant principal at Heritage, Mrs. Hill is ready to uplift both students and staff here at Lebanon Trail High School. Transitioning from a 504 and testing coordinator to an assistant principal, she wanted to start seeing things in a bigger picture, where she feels she can make more of an impact.
“Seeing the positive impact the assistant principals have made, both in the way they support students individually and in how they lead the campus in the right direction, made me want to be a part of it,” Mrs. Hill said.
Now settling in, she is ready to support students both personally and academically. “My door is always open, that’s the first and most important thing,” she explained. “My alphabet range is Li to Ri, but any student is welcome to come in and chat.”
While she hopes students feel comfortable coming to her for personal support, Mrs. Hill is equally focused on helping them succeed in the classroom.
“Academically, it’s about staying on top of students who may be struggling and making sure we provide support as a team,” Hill explained. “That’s one of the great parts about being an assistant principal. You’re part of a team where everyone shares the same goal of supporting every student, whether that’s socially, emotionally, or with school, where we put a plan in place to help them be successful.”
Stepping into her role as one of the assistant principals at Lebanon Trail, her top priority is always the students. “‘I care about all the students, even the ones I have to have a difficult conversation with,” she said. “I want every single one of [my students] to be successful, which is why I’m having those hard conversations with [my students],” Hill shared.
Looking ahead, Mrs. Hill hopes to leave a lasting impact with the students and teachers of Lebanon Trail, building strong relationships and encouraging everyone to reach their full potential.
